The 8 Reasons You Should Not Use Claude, and Just Use Claude Code

If you pay for Claude, you should be using Claude Code. It's not a coding tool, and it's not as hard as you think.

Here's a hot take I genuinely believe: if you have a Claude subscription, you shouldn't be using Claude. You should be using Claude Code.

I know that sounds crazy if you've never written a line of code. But Claude Code is not a coding tool. It's the general agent that can do anything on your computer, and it's the most valuable AI tool you can learn right now for everyday work, documents, and now video editing.

Here are the 8 reasons to graduate.

1. It's not as hard as you think

The biggest misconception is that Claude Code is only for technical people. That's just not true.

There are a lot of toggles and settings, and you don't need 99% of them. All you need to know is two things: the model and bypass permissions. Pick the best model, turn on bypass permissions so it stops asking before every step, and start talking to it.

2. It runs on your computer

This is the one thing to understand, because everything else comes from it.

Regular Claude lives in a chat window in the cloud, so it only knows what you paste into it. Claude Code runs on your own computer, inside a folder you pick. It can create, edit and delete real files, run programs, and use the apps you already have installed.
